Hey y’all! I’m Calley.

Hey y'all! I'm Calley, a Tennessean who accidentally moved abroad four years ago. I came to Mallorca on a one-way flight to teach English, and since then I've called Palma, Barcelona and Venice home.

I recently completed a master's in English studies, with a thesis on William Faulkner (ask me anything). Along the way I've edited manuscripts, judged short story contests, and published essays about life in Spain, including in Humans of Mallorca.

Today I work as a writer, editor and writing coach, helping people say what they mean, clearly and with style, in English. I take "for the plot" as a moral imperative, so I bring curiosity and a sense of fun to the work, along with real care for the details.
